Shopify 3D and AR apps compared

How to read this table. Every value is what the app's public Shopify App Store listing showed on 8 October 2026: number of reviews and average rating, launch date, the price range on the pricing section, and the focus as the listing describes it. “—” means we didn't record it. Listings change; check the current listing before you decide. We make one of the apps in the list, so we kept the descriptions to what the listings say.

Three kinds of app

  • Configurators (Zakeke, Angle, Mimeeq) let shoppers change colours, materials and parts in 3D. They usually expect you to have 3D models or to have them made.
  • AR previews without a 3D model (Picture It) put a flat item such as wall art into the room.
  • Photo to 3D and room visualizers (Insiti, Voxelwave, 3Dify, Freakout AI, HomeVisioner, DecorViz and others) start from your product photos. Most of them launched in 2025–2026 and have 10 reviews or fewer.

Where our app fits

ArtUp: 3D Models & AR Room is new and has no reviews yet. It makes a model from each product photo inside your Shopify admin (you accept, regenerate or reject it), adds it to the product's media, and adds a theme block so shoppers can collect up to five products into one AR room and add the whole set to the cart. It is not a configurator. If you mainly sell wall art, an AR art preview app fits better; if you sell configurable products, a configurator does.

The only source: one photo of a bookcase
Input: one photoPhoto: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, public domain (CC0)
Loading the 3D model…
Output: a 3D modelGenerated from that single photo, no manual edits, compressed for the web. Drag to rotate; on a phone, “View in your room” opens AR.

Questions to ask any app

  1. Do I need to supply 3D models, or does the app make them?
  2. Can I review a model before shoppers see it?
  3. Does the model go into Shopify's own product media (so it stays if I remove the app)?
  4. How are real dimensions set for AR?
  5. Does AR work on both iPhone and Android?

Add 3D to every product, from the photos you already have

ArtUp: 3D Models & AR Room makes a 3D model from each product photo inside your Shopify admin, lets you accept or regenerate it, adds it to the product's media, and lets shoppers place several products together in their room.

Coming to the Shopify App Store — until then the first button opens the app's page.
